Amanda Howell Whitehurst

Amanda Howell Whitehurst is a digital and traditional artist who has been creating rich and earthy, bold and beautiful portraits of black women. Her digital paintings, oil/acrylic paintings, and Modern-Vintage style comics celebrate black women's beauty, strength, and confidence in the modern world. Using color and technique, Amanda evokes a sense of nostalgia and captures a moment in time with her art.  Amanda has illustrated for Sisters for AARP, Hillman Grad/Def Jam Records and is the bespoke illustrator for the second season of NPR Music's "Louder Than A Riot" podcast. Her work has also been exhibited at the Wa Na Wari Art Gallery in Seattle, Washington. She’s also been featured in Voyage Jacksonville.
